Lets talk skin people.
I know most of you are already aware I am pretty big on skin/skincare. Lets be real, we are never happy, there is always something we want to change and honestly some days I either say fuck it, or go into meltdown and would rather hide my head in a bucket than face the world. I talk to so many women and men, we all feel the same insecurities, we're human.
So a little bit of a recap, I had shit skin, nothing worked, I went on accutane for 6 months and my skin was great for 4 whole months after I finished. Now I have officially been off accutane for 9 months and my skin is shit once again; this time its definitely not as bad as when I first started this journey, but once you have a taste for utterly clear skin it's hard to come back to the latter.
What I have learnt from this is, it's okay to not to be picture perfect. We all have scares, we all get anxiety, and we are all in the same boat. I am currently using an amazing skincare line called Rationale and even though I still break out, my skin feels so healthy and luminous and this makes me feel like it's okay, because regardless of what it may look like somedays, I am looking after it and my skin is thanking me for it.
By now I think your realising that.. yep I still getting acne, and some damn good Dr Pimple Popper worthy ones, but alas all hope is not lost for us acne and clear skin driven nuts; below I am going to go through my skincare regime which I have found to be very calming for my acne prone skin.
So we start in the morning with, no shower (yes it's weird to start of with but honestly you get used to it), I just splash my face with tempid water and dab dry with a towel, I then apply my Immunologist Serum (1) to my face, 3 drops is all you need. I then go in with my Rationale Beautiful skin (C1), this is like a tinted moisturiser and is SPF50 (I know sunscreen can feel gross but get over it, this stuff is amazing and your 50 year old self will thank you for it!)
Now for those that “require” makeup to be worn aka me, but are super acne prone, I behold the Jane Irdele Pure Pressed foundation, this stuff is a pure mineral, not the bogus infomercial stuff you see on day TV. Your skin won’t get clogged and you can thank me later.
La La La!!! (this is you going about your day to day jobs, with beautiful luminous skin).
Now in the PM. No shower. Sorry I’m only joking, please shower because that's kinda gross if you don’t. So your in the shower, doing your thangg and what you wanna do is start with your Pro Cermicide (4), I wash my face twice with this, once to remove makeup and oil, and then the second time to really clean my skin, only use a pea sized amount. Once you have done this, do all your other mandatory cleaning but don’t you dare use any exfoliating products on your face.
Once your out of the shower and all dried up, grab your Catalyst Serum (5), this is my favourite product ever, I love the way it tingles. Use only 3 drops and smooth over face, don’t forget your neck and the back of your hands!
Then spoon out a 10 cent sized amount of the DNA Night Cream (6) and rub between your fingers and gently press into your face, neck, and back of hands.
And thats it, after a week you will start to notice little changes to your completion, your skin evens out, you wake up with a beautiful glow and your skin will just feels so calm and rejuvenated.
